About Enfield Lock, Enfield Wash and Enfield Highway
Enfield Lock is in the London Borough of Enfield, in the north of London and situated in the postal district of EN3. It is situated in the area east of the Hertford Road between Turkey Street and the Holmsdale Tunnel overpass, to River Lea Navigation, including the Enfield Island Village. Enfield Lock is recorded thus in 1710, earlier as Norhtlok 1355, The Locke 1657, 'the (northern) lock or river barrier (near Enfield)', from Middle English lok. It was first developed from about 1812 when a UK government-owned rifle factory, which was to be later known as the Royal Small Arms Factory (RSAF), Enfield, was constructed. The factory was built round about the end of the Napoleonic War on the instructions of the Board of Ordnance on marsh land at Enfield Lock on the banks of both the River Lea and the River Lea Navigation. The site was where the old River Lea joined the new River Lea. Enfield Lock (lock) had been built in 1811 to conserve water on the river, and a lock keeper's house was built. There was no other housing at that time at Enfield Lock, so workers had to live nearby at Enfield Wash.

Enfield Wash is in the London Borough of Enfield in the north of London. It is roughly situated in the area either side of Hertford Road between Turkey Street and Carterhatch Lane in the postal district of EN3. Albany Park, Enfield, the park was created in c.1902, probably so named to commemorate Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany, the youngest son of Queen Victoria, who died in 1884.

It is roughly situated in the area either side of Hertford Road (Enfield Highway) between Carterhatch Lane and The Ride and is situated in the postal district of EN3. Enfield Highway is marked thus on the Ordnance Survey map of 1822, it is a settlement mainly from the 18th century named from the kings highe way leading to London 1610, a reference to the old Roman road called Ermine Street (now the A1010 road).
